Venues set, what next?
Before we could all proceed with the next steps, Obey and I decided early on that we will have a simple wedding with no big frills, and we have agreed on the sunflower as our motiff. Guests can wear anything they like, there is really no color motiff for our wedding but many turned up wearing barongs and off-white, creamy colored clothes which matched the general feel of the wedding.
Why the sunflower? Because it loves the sun and follows it wherever it goes. At sunset, it droops in sadness because the sun is gone. Our love will always follow one another so that we will never be that far apart. Like the sun, we are both free sprited and rather posses strong characters so it is also very appropriate. Like the sun, we are both intense in our emotions and can quite quickly get angry but like the sun we also posses qualities that shed light to loneliness, bring joy to sadness and warmth to cold.
So yes, we chose the huge sunflower to represent our love and feelings for one another on our wedding day.
